Let us tell you a story.

"Once upon a time, there were three guys from Puglia......." just kidding! ;)

With Al Bacio and Al Bacetto working hand in hand for a number of years now, the three of us one night got to together and over some warm Pizza, fresh out of the oven, we started talking about how much we had thus far enjoyed working together.

The most logical step, that came to our minds quite naturally, was to open a Pizzeria together and combine all of our styles.

Little did we know, that our patience and creativity would be put to the challenge quite early on. After all, who decides to open a pizzeria amidst a COVID-lockdown?! ;)

What followed were several months of hands-on renovations, impatiently waiting for our new hightech oven and getting everything ready in time for the Grand Opening.

Whether it was a matter of perseverance, stubbornness or sheer luck, everything came together and since day one, we could not have been happier or more excited to open our doors for you to the third BACI-FAMILY member!

Claudio Valente

If I were to describe myself in 3 words, those would unequivocally be: Creative, energetic, and determined. 

 

I have never been someone to invest only 5% of myself into what I do. Together with Giovanni, we sought to create something unique, that we are passionate about. We both agreed we wanted a place where everyone would feel welcome and have a great time. Seeing our clients, many of which have become close friends throughout the years, enjoying one of my Pizza's, a good glass of wine, and the music whilst going home with a smile on their faces only confirms that this where we're supposed to be.

Vito Meraglia

After graduating from the renowned "Scuola di Pizzaiolo", Vito set out early to become an entrepreneur in the business.

Following a series of professional successes in his native region of Puglia, he sought out to change the scenery. After a brief intermezzo in Norway, he arrived in Belgium in 2018, where he joined forces with "AL Bacio Ixelles". Together, they created "Al Bacetto Ixelles", which he is now running successfully since 2019.

Giovanni Tralci

June 2017, I was still working for the company when the opportunity presented itself to open 'Al Bacio'. The decision to approach Claudio with this idea came only naturally as we had grown to become the closest of friends. On top of this, in terms of know-how and expertise, we complemented each other perfectly - whilst he takes care of everything that happens in the kitchen, I take are of the restaurant. And thus, 'Al Bacio' was born.
